Prayers for Baby Brandon

Corina has asked me to post a plea for prayers for this sweet little one. He has been in the hospital since birth (April), fighting for his life. His status has been upgraded to critical today as his lungs are filling with CO2. Please pray for his recovery and peace for his family as they wait for answers and healing. Thanks!

We try so hard not to laugh at these things...

Tonight at dinner, when I was telling Greg that Grandpa fell asleep in Matthew's room when he laid him down for a nap (poor grandpa got tired out today while I am recovering on the couch). As soon as I said Grandpa fell asleep, Matthew imitated grandpa's snoring, with a mouth full of pizza, which got sprayed all over the table. Sure...you try not to laugh at that one while it's happening!!

My funny little guy

Matthew has the best personality!! He is so much fun. These were all taken at snack time last night. What a neat little guy!! Make sure to watch the video...it's a riot!!

Happy Birthday Grandma Engel!!

Attack of the Yellow Jacket!

While we were at family camp this weekend, Matthew was attacked by an angry yellow jacket wasp. With his peanut allergy, I have always been a bit nervous when bee's flew around him, since they also cause severe reactions in those that are allergic. It was our first morning at camp, and Matthew walked outside along the driveway in front of our cabin. Within moments he was screaming and swatting in the air. At first I thought it was just a mosquito that buzzed by, but when I got up closer, I saw that his earlobe was bleeding!! That nasty bug stung my baby twice in 2 seconds!! His poor ear turned tomato red and blew up to three times it's normal size. No ER trip though, and no trouble breathing, so for now...anxiety subsides a bit. Thank you Jesus for your protection!!

Fantasy vs Reality

Playdate Fantasy: The idea that two toddlers can play side by side in perfect harmony. That they will willingly take turns, and act in a loving way with each other at all times. That they will share everything with a smile and never demand their own way. That the adult parents can chat and catch up while all this harmony plays out in front of their eyes...

Playdate Reality:

All hell breaks loose at a moments notice, as the children fight for ownership over whatever the other child may have. It's survival of the loudest, as they exert their small yet mighty voices. Sadly, the adults get to talk for about 2 minutes and spend the rest of the time on damage control.

Brooke: We hope your fingers are feeling better!! We had a wonderful time today. Hope to see you again soon, and hope you are laughing at this post too!!

Choo Choo!!

LIke momma like son :-)

See mom...I am not the only one who thinks sitting like this comfortable :-)

CRASH!!

We started the day off with a crash today. At about 7:15am, Matthew, who wakes up full of energy, decided to run at break-neck speed across the living room and into the kitchen. He lost his footing, and despite my best efforts, I could not save him in time. He plowed face first into the corner edge of our kitchen wall. His feet had actually left the ground, and his sweet little face was what caught his fall. He is okay now, but we won't be taking his two year old photos for a while. OUCH!!
